   Brian and Max in Gardena.Brian O’Neal and The BusBoys are currently working on a documentary film entitled "Freeway City: Portrait of an L.A. Suburb." The film is directed by a brilliant young film maker from London, Max Votolato, with yours truly working as Executive Producer and Composer/Music Supervisor.
The film chronicles the history of Gardena, which, as it turns out, is one of the nation's most interesting and influential small towns. It's got a touch of the entire American experience: wartime extremes, cultural influence, gambling, burlesque, religion, riots and big business. I'm including some new BusBoys tracks as well as some music written specifically for the film that will end up as part of a soundtrack. There are also some BusBoys shows being put together to go along with the promotion of the film. The first one is Saturday, July 18, 2009, at the Normandie Casino in Gardena, CA. The BusBoys also just recently shot live performance footage for another documentary entitled “Cleaning Up The Town: Remembering Ghostbusters”. It is being filmed and produced by Bueno Productions. Anthony and Claire Bueno are from England and have included The Busboys in this homage to one of the film world’s classic, pure entertainment motion pictures. The film features a number of candid interviews with the show’s stars, as well as with Director Ivan Rietman and singer Ray Parker Jr. The BusBoys were nominated for a Grammy for their song "Cleanin' Up The Town" in the original GB’s movie. We will keep you posted on the release of this wonderful documentary.
